Love, Upon the Rocks (Poem)

By: on

Love, upon the rocks, dashed like waves
And yet, unperturbed he craves
Sweet nectar memories of winters past
Gold-leaf paintings of wonders last
Seen in a museum, passed like dreams
But he shall see no more, it seems
As golden grains pass through the hourglass of fate
There's nothing left in him but hate
Spiraling, down the vortex in the murky black lake
So far gone, no more love will he make
